Sense-Making Sustainability and the Environment
Interdisciplinary researcher, policy analyst and program manager. Working to solve environmental and biodiversity challenges for positive social and ecological change.
Bio
My interest in solving problems that have a human impact can be traced back to my days studying human-computer interaction in my MEng Computer Science at University College London. Over the past 10+ years, I've worked as a researcher and program manager in the tech and public sector, for organisations including Wipro, ThoughtWorks, Chargebee and the Tamil Nadu e-Governance agency. I am currently a policy analyst at the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment and a doctoral researcher in Environmental Economics and Environmental Management at the University of York. I use my skills to address social and public policy challenges in areas of sustainable development including environment, biodiversity and technology.

What is Sustainablity and Environmental Management?

The sustainable development goals are a set of 17 goals established by the United Nations to promote sustainable economic, social, and environmental development on a global scale. These goals cover a range of critical issues, including poverty reduction, education, gender equality, and climate action.
Environmental management refers to research on the use and conservation of habitats and natural resources and the interactions of humans with the environment.
My work encompasses these two domains, and in my role at ATREE and as a PhD scholar I work on policy issues for biodiversity conservation, renewable energy, wildlife management, digital technology and their interactions with human well-being.
In the past I have also worked on sustainable development issues of health and education access, public opinion and inequalities.
